Many people are under the mistaken impression that math is boring or not very useful, but they couldn’t be more wrong as these videos about code-breaking explain. The first video explains the workings of the code system Germany used to send secret messages, and the second describes how math was used to break the code. These code-breaking efforts even gave rise to the first modern computers.
